Skeptical of Doomsday Cults?

Only a few years ago Al Gore won the Nobel prize for scaring the living daylights out of us with his  outrageous untruth..  The world stood up and drank of the Kool-Aid being served up that the planet was warming and we were responsible. There was much talk of  limiting the warming to 2 degrees celsius.  Now Australia faces a devastating Carbon Tax based on a doomsday cult delusion. The cultists argue that without a unilateral (and suicidal) new Tax..we will see Australia sink beneath the waves..

“We’ll all be rooned said Hanrahan”

Cardinal George Pell delivered an excellent summation of this whole process in his Annual Global Warming Policy Foundation Lecture on the 26th October 2011.

(please click the link it is an excellent read .)

Surprised and appreciative of the honour to deliver the lecture, Cardinal Pell noted that he was more grateful for the existence of the Global Warming Policy Foundation and its sane and important contributions in this debate.

In his Conclusion Cardinal Pell remarks Sometimes the very learned and clever can be brilliantly foolish, especially when seized by an apparently good cause”.

Motive reinforcing itself at the expense of the very science they purport to follow….A classic confusion of Qualitative and Quantitative criteria…and ideologically reinforced….. the Kool-Aid problem.

A classic example of brilliant folly is Michael E. Mann, immortalised as a depiction of the modern day buffoon  Mann was one of the originators of a graph of temperature trends over the last thousand years, called the “hockey stick graph” A champion of the Settled Science Consensus, Mann has struggled with credibility since he was caught up in the ClimateGate email scandal.

There have been many a doomsday prediction gone wrong and global warming is no exception.

Blind Freddy can see that Global Warming/Climate Change/ Climate Disruption will join the long list of failed doomsday predictions …

and bloody good riddance!

Best regards
