MARRIAGE ACT 1961 – SECT 5
“marriage” means the union of a man and a woman to the exclusion of all others, voluntarily entered into for life.
Anglican Archbishop of Sydney Peter Jensen says same-sex marriage is not a question of equality. “The right to be married extends equally, but only to those who are qualified … people already married are disqualified from marrying another, and siblings are rightly disqualified from marrying each other,” he wrote.
Catholic Archbishop of Sydney, Cardinal George Pell, and bishops Julian Porteous, Terry Brady and Peter Comensoli claim:
. “Instead of removing discrimination and injustice, (same-sex marriage) will cause them,” it reads.
Catholics will also receive a bookmark warning the legalisation of same-sex marriage will make it “very difficult” for Catholics to have their views taught in schools.
In a letter dated May 28, Greek Orthodox Archbishop Stylianos Harkianakis said church members had a “sacred duty” to ask local MPs to vote against the Marriage Amendment Bill.
Judaism views marriage as the ideal human state. Both the Torahand the Talmud view a man without a wife, or a woman without a husband, as incomplete. “A man who does not marry is not a complete person.” (Lev. 34a) “Any man who has no wife lives without joy, without blessing, and without goodness.” (B. Yev. 62b)
In addition, Judaism views marriage as holy, as a sanctification of life. The word kiddushin, which means “sanctification”, is used in Jewish literature when referring to marriage. Marriage is seen as a spiritual bonding between two people and as the fulfillment of God’s commandment.
Seventh-day Adventists believe Issues related to marriage can be seen in their true light only as they are viewed against the background of the divine ideal for marriage. Marriage was divinely established in Eden and affirmed by Jesus Christ to be both monogamous and heterosexual, a lifelong union of loving companionship between a man and a woman. In the culmination of His creative activity, God fashioned humankind as male and female in His own image; and He instituted marriage, a covenant-based union of the two genders physically, emotionally, and spiritually, spoken of in Scripture as “one flesh.”
In Islamic law Allah has created men and women as company for one another, and so that they can procreate and live in peace and tranquility according to the commandments of Allah and the directions of His Messenger.
Members of Baptist churches in Australia overwhelmingly support the current definition of marriage as between one man and one woman, and reject moves to extend the definition to include same sex relationships, National President of Australian Baptist Ministries, the Reverend Dr John Beasy, said
The Lutheran Church of Australia has expressed its opposition to proposed legislation that would equate same-sex partnerships with the traditional understanding of marriage, namely, between a woman and a man.
The weddings of Buddhist couples are simple occasions, enjoyed by the friends and family who unite to rejoice in the extraordinary joining together of husband and wife.
Condition for a Hindu Marriage
The bridegroom has completed the age of twenty one years and the bride the age of eighteen years at the time of the marriage;
Mormon church does not agree with gay marriage—it adamantly opposes homosexuality.
Jehovah’s Witnesses condemn sex before marriage, adultery, homosexuality, bestiality, incest, and the use of pornography as “serious sins before God.” Those who persist in homosexual or other behaviours seen as immoral are disfellowshipped.
Although rarely offered as an explicit argument against gay marriage, the idea that marriage is a sacred religious sacrament is one of the most important arguments for opponents and underlies much of the vehemence which motivates them in a way that the other arguments fail to explain. Indeed, if it weren’t for the idea that marriage is sacred, it seems unlikely that the debate would be as rancorous as it is. Gay Marriage Would Be a Sacrilege and Thus Must Be Banned
Concerns that same-sex marriage would change the nature of heterosexual marriage were groundless, she told the conference.
“I say to those who oppose marriage equality: there is nothing to fear.
“Marriages between men and women are in no way devalued, nor made less secure by this change.”
A clever speech by Senator Wrong, trying to make this about fear of change, or fear for the security of heterosexual marriage. She has even tried to bring the racial card into play, however, this goes beyond all the Socialist fear lectures, it is about the Religious beliefs on marriage in Australia. I have listed 11 religions above who find Gay marriage as sacrilege. There is also a large percentage of Agnostic and Atheists who find Gay marriage against their own beliefs.

Throughout history at least 50% of the reason for marriage was procreation and no matter what argument you wish to apply same sex couples are unable to achieve this. Procreation = to beget or bring forth offspring : reproduce
Synonyms: breed, multiply, propagate, reproduce
However, Australian Marriage Equality national convener Alex Greenwich said the clerics’ campaign would damage their credibility.
“Polls show the majority of Australian Christians support marriage equality, as do many church leaders, and being told from the pulpit that their views are wrong will only strengthen their resolve to see equality prevail,” he said in a statement.
This is another attack on Christian beliefs in AUSTRALIA, we do not have to comply just because Socialists say we must, this is not a matter of equality, it is a stand for what is right. No matter what spin people like Penny WRONG put on this it does not mean a union between 2 men, nor does it mean a union between 2 women.
This is the argument Socialists have been pushing for years, with Student activists jumping up and down and people being shamed into making a stand with them, the started with the gullible and as numbers increased jumped on the politicians, who are scared to see this for what it is, just another attack on the family structure that has existed for many years and made us proud to be a husband or wife and to have children together. By doing this Socialists have undermined Aussie society once again.
We should not support Gay marriage as there is no compelling reason rationale to do so, however there is by sheer definition a reason for man and woman to be married.
DO NOT allow the Socialists to keep pushing there agenda at the expense of our way of life and culture.
