April 12, 2007 We had a Coalition Government, we had Work-Choices we had 4.5% unemployment, 276,000 new jobs had been created, and security in our cost of living, it is reasonable to assume the contributions that led to this spectacular growth in employment has been the removal of the unfair dismissal provisions under Work-Choices and legislation allowing workplaces to be ruined by enforced union membership.
However The Unions and ALP, decided to throw all their resources at making Work-Choices a scary Act, and through a constant barrage of lies and actors pretending to be hard done by under Work-Choices managed to put enough fear into the Public to make them think Work-Choices was the Devils creation..
The alternative we now have the Fair Work Act has seen Unions forcing increases in wages, Parliamentarians increasing their raises, Taxes rising for mid to high income workers, Cost of living now using the Space Shuttle, Electricity at a 600% over 5 yrs increase, Employers closing their doors at an alarming rate, business finding it unsustainable to continue in Australia, MP’s who were Union Activists, a growing number of serious allegations of fraudulent behaviour by Senior MP’s ie the PM Julia Gillard, the Speaker Peter Slipper, MP Craig Thomson who has left a stench in the House for 5 yrs so far and is currently awaiting charges by the Victorian Police. just to start. Already they were forced to despatch Belinda Neil after she threatened restaurant staff, attacked the ex lover of her husband, and had a reputation for rough play during soccer. and this list has continued with this Government. where unemployment is between 5.2 and 5.8 %. Job creation is non existent as there are more jobs being lost in Australian business than there are jobs being created by overseas companies.
This Government increased the Public service size to reduce unemployment, however, the poor decisions in regard green programme funding, infrastructure, tax increases and money spent overseas has led us to a record debt of $230,278,230,500 and stuck with a Government that wins arguments through bullying rather than policy, and lies constantly to strengthen their position, particularly to overseas Countries.
And it is Work Choices that that have left a sour taste in peoples mouths, maybe these people need to start looking at the facts instead of listening to The Left.

You have cherry picked data to suit your argument.
Yes, unemployment was as you quoted on that particular day in 2007, on that particular day. To be fair, which you haven’t bothered to do, unemployment was trending downward, but it did rise immediately after that date.
Then there was the Global Financial Crisis, which you neglect to mention even happened. Unemployment in Australia has risen, and at the moment it is a little over 5%, but a comparison with the rest of the world reveals that other economies are in the toilet with some having unemployment rates as high as 30%. Of course, it wouldn’t suit your argument to point out that Australia currently has one of the lowest unemployment rates in the world.
Tax revenue to GDP ratio in Australia is among the lowest in the world, and everyone was recently given an extra $12000 tax free income because the tax threshold was raised from $6000 to $18000, but it wouldn’t suit your argument to point that out.
Job creation since the Labor party formed government: 800,000 plus, during a global financial crisis! Employment participation rate averaging over 65% since 2008, which couldn’t get above 64% from 1996 to 2004 but which rose steadily to above 65% from 2005 to 2007. The Labor government has managed to keep it there for their whole term.
Peter Slipper has never been a member of the Labor party or the government. In fact he was endorsed by the Liberal party nine times and was an independent member while he was speaker. He has never voted with the government, because the speaker doesn’t get to vote.
Craig Thompson, has not been charged, although it looks like he will be, but that is not the same thing as being guilty. Anyone could make an accusation against you for being a pedophile, but that is not the same thing as having charges brought against you and a conviction in court.
Belinda Neil is a bully, and she played rough in soccer. Oh, the Horror! This is relevant to her political career, how?
Electricity prices are up, yes, and that’s the point of the carbon price. It’s deliberate. You are supposed to use less, and you are being compensated. Remember the $12000 extra tax free income?
